Rainbow eucalyptus trees are aptly named. Their paper-thin layers of bark peel off to reveal a different color, layer upon layer. In a way, I am like the bark of this tree ~ variegated, multi-layered, and colorful. Unexpected surprises are revealed as layers begin to shed or peel. The colors in this painting are an accurate representation, without exaggeration or embellishment. Native to  Papua New Guinea,  the Philippines, and Indonesia, these trees may also be seen in parts of Hawaii. As a child and even now, I love to peel the bark to see what colors lie underneath. Curiosity never ends.
